Archaeological Dig
This free, one-day field trip was attended by 4th through 11th grade students from public, private, and home school organizations.
Campers:
- Experienced Hands-On Archaeology "In the Field"
- Dug for... and found... actual artifacts
- Learned techniques to date and analyze artifacts
- Used math to measure and document an archaeological site
- Discovered the historical importance of our dig site and how its previous owners influenced our government
- Used laptop computers to create and publish a two-page newsletter including digital pictures from their activities at the dig
